ANIMALS SUPPLIED FOR FILM & TV - (Watch previous commercials)
For over 30 years, we have been training and supplying animals for movies, TV shows, and commercials. Although we have access to all types of animals that can be supplied, our specialty is dogs, birds, and cats.
What do you look for when trying to find someone to supply and train an animal for a shoot? I have found that there are a number of variables involved in training a dog to work on a specific picture or commercial, and one of them is that the supplier or trainer is able to have a great communication with the agency, producer, or director. The best animal trainers in the business are the ones that have good commication skills.
One of the most important questions that needs to be asked is if the animal that is selected can be trained to do the action. The next question is if the animal has the personality for that specific job. Here is an example: The dog that might have been selected for this particular job may have very well been able to do the action, however the scene may have called for a very energetic and high strung dog. And let's imagine this dog is very calm and laid back. Even though this dog might have the ability to be trained to do the action, I most likely would have NOT recommend the dog based on his personality because they were looking for a high strung dog, and the actual personality of the dog was not what the character called for. This is just one variable, and there are so many others.
If you have a shoot coming up, and would like some help in figuring how much the animal action will cost, please give us a call. We are also very good about recommending additional animal action you might not have thought of.
